NOTES
Armourdale is a musical based on events that occurred in the Armourdale district of Kansas City, Kansas, from 1936 through 1951, when the worst flood in the city’s history devastated the area. Armourdale is located on the Kansas River, also called the “Kaw.” The story centers around two families living across the street from each other. Luigi and Assunta Tortorilla, Italian immigrants, their daughter Norma, and seven other children. Bill and Mary (O’Donnel) Sanders are helping their son "OD", a widower, to raise their grandson, "Tommy."
